The replacement of damaged drinking water pipes is one of the main tasks in the construction programmes of the network operators. This task is becoming increasingly difficult and complex due to the congested network of pipes and cables in the underground and the ever increasing traffic conditions. STEIN engineers can draw on a wide range of experience for the planning of such construction projects.

In addition to the conventional replacement of pipelines, transport and main lines must also be adapted to the new requirements in the supply networks. Depending on the region, water demand and supply security, sometimes procedures are required to reduce existing pipe cross-sections (or alternatively new supply lines) in order to achieve increased flow rates.

The team of STEIN engineers has extensive experience, especially in the application of trenchless construction and replacement methods. These methods are required above all for the undercrossing of important roads or railway lines as well as water bodies.

In addition to conventional approaches, special solutions such as pipeline ducts or utility corridors / tunnels can also be planned.
